The Convention was a full day event that gave Doctor Who enthusiasts an amazing chance to delve into the inner workings of the hit TV show and learn how it is created – a journey from script to screen. With unique access to the cast and production crew, the event offered fans a rare chance to see behind-the-scenes of the world’s longest running sci-fi show.
Tickets gave visitors access to three unique, interactive panel discussions with key cast and crew, with each session one hour long.
Audiences were split into two streams (Oods and Silurians) based on session timings and visitors are asked to pick one stream when booking their ticket.
All theatre sessions took place in the Donald Gordon Theatre.

Meet the Stars
A hosted Q&A session with the stars of the current series including Matt Smith, Arthur Darvill, Karen Gillan, Caroline Skinner and Head Writer & Executive Producer, Steven Moffat.
Visitors found out what it’s like being part of such an iconic series. What do they enjoy most about their character? Which episode was the most fun to film? What excites them most about the new series and what new challenges has it thrown their way?
Visitors came prepared with questions of their own to ask stars from the audience.
Creators & Directors
A rare opportunity to listen to the creative masterminds who have brought Doctor Who to our screens. Visitors found out all the things they have ever wanted to know about the creators and directors: what inspires them? How do they continue to develop new storylines and creative twists?
Host, Script Editor Gary Russell, was joined by a number of the current creative team including Producer Marcus Wilson, Script Executive Nick Hurran, Writer Tom MacRae and Millennium FX Director Neill Gorton.
Doctor Who Uncut
Visitors heard from the people who bring episodes to life with their creative concepts. The session provides an exclusive chance to hear their amazing stories from on-set and behind the camera.
Host, Dalek operator Barnaby Edwards wass joined by a number of the people responsible for bringing the show to life including Production Designer Michael Pickwoad, Casting Director Andy Pryor, Director of Photography Stephan Pehrsson and Directors Toby Haynes and Julian Simpson.
